Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the app collects, why, and who it is shared with. It applies to the iOS and Android versions.

The most important thing to know: your conversations are sent to a third-party AI provider (Groq) so a reply can be generated. They are not private to your device. Please do not share passwords, financial details, or anything you would not want leaving your phone.

What the app is

The app lets you create an AI companion and exchange messages with it. Every character in the app is software. They are not real people, and no human reads your chats in the ordinary course of using the app. The app is intended for adults and is not a substitute for professional mental health support.

What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, your location, your calendar, or your device's photo library beyond images you explicitly choose to upload. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your conversations for advertising.

Who your data is shared with

Groq — receives your messages and any screenshots you submit, in order to generate replies. See Groq's privacy policy.
Google (Firebase) — sign-in, push notifications and analytics. See Firebase privacy.
Apple — only if you use Sign in with Apple. If you choose "Hide My Email", we receive a relay address and never see your real one.
Our hosting provider — the server that stores your account and messages.

Nobody else. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Where your data is stored

On our own server. Messages and account details are stored in a database that is not publicly reachable. Uploaded images are stored on the same server.

Your choices

Delete a conversation — removes it and its messages from our server.
Delete your account — from Profile → Settings. This removes your account, companions, messages and uploaded images. It cannot be undone.
Turn off notifications — in your device settings, or by signing out.
Request a copy of your data — email us at the address below.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection under the GDPR. If you are in California, you have rights of access and deletion under the CCPA, and we do not sell personal information. Email us to exercise any of these.

Children

This app is for adults and is rated accordingly. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Access to the database is restricted to the application. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in chats.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app.
